Final Fantasy XIV features a simple yet comprehensive character creation system which allows players to customize their avatars.

Once a race and clan have been selected, players can proceed to choose from a wide variety of face types and hair styles. From there, detailed adjustments can be made to hair, skin, and eye color, as well as mouth, nose and eye shape.

There are even smaller details available, like putting highlights or streaks in your hair and adding scars and tattoos. Not only can players choose how they look but they will also get to choose how they sound with a variety of voice types. The possibilities are almost endless.

Character Creation Steps

1. The character creation process begins with selecting from one of the five races and one of that the two clans within the race, then customizing the avatar.

2. Once your character is complete, you begin the game and set up your discipline, nameday (birthday) and Guardian Deity. It is unknown at this time what effects, if any, one's Guardian Deity and nameday will have once a player enters Eorzea.

3. Once all those steps are complete, you choose your name, which must consist of both a first and last name. (Players will be able to contact you through /tell by a single-word nickname which they themselves choose.)
