Has anyone seen the June edition of Game Informer yet? There is a brand new article about FFXIV in there.

It is on Page 30...

I finally had a free minute to go ahead and read it. The article is only 1 page long. It basically discusses the Alpha version and talks about how you initially get into the world or Eorzea by Limsa Lominsa. The author complains about how slow the combat system still is.

Although I find it funny that at the end of the article he states:

"Though I saw the PC version of Final Fantasy XIV - there will not be a beta for PS3 - it was demoed quite comfortably with a controller."

I guess the author of the article has not been keeping up with all of the news from Famitsu. We should really thank the Eorzeapedia staff for keeping us up to date with all of those details.

I probably would not waste your money if you are only after that one article. It is not really worth it to be honest.

It's nice to see that Game Informer is "informed" about the stuff they write about.

The English magazines will always be late to the game unless they somehow get an exclusive interview.

It's new to some people. But certainly not us who are monitoring FFXIV closely.

They make so many mistakes in GI constantly that there's people who actively fact check it after printing just to get to send letters in.

we've seen no party vs party combat, which SE said was primarily what FFXIV was going to be based around, i'm sure it will be more fast-paced than the average gamer will care for lol.

Only time will tell...

I for one am really excited about the game. I look at it as the FFXI that I always wanted to play. What I mean is that FFXIV is essentially FFXI, but with better graphics, voice acting, solo activities, etc...

Which it is, just not in the Alpha version of the game. None of the complex systems seem to be in yet.

I find it so sad that US Magazines have nothing good to say FFXIV.

Either they really hated FFXI, or they just have to keep the bigger fan base (non-ffxi players) by dissing it.

I am gonna go with the second reason, as at first FFXI was highly praised.

FFXI got tons of "Game of the Year" and "MMO of the Year" awards from places like IGN etc. when it first came out. Then its like they jumped on the bandwagon and started complaining about every thing. even things they once "Praised"

Yes it was. It's not SE's fault that XI came out right at the wrong time though. Not too long after it;s release, WoW came out, and that killed XP grinding MMO's like XI. I remember getting my GamePro with thr 4 page article of FFXI. I still have it somewhere around here. I read, and read, and read it over and over. In the car, on the toilet, in school.. I was excited.

But I feel that XIV really may be a WoW killer. Surely everyone has to be bored of WoW by now. Right?
